This afternoon I had a wonderful time with The Raise Academy @the_yestrust! πŸŽ‰ Four groups met Boop, Sherbet, Coal, Ember and the Invertebrates and also had the opportunity to see some amazing artefacts and specimens too! Looking forward to being back in the new year 😁
Today was the second and final week of the Home Educator Zoology Program! We have discussed habitats, life cycles, enrichment, health, welfare, husbandry, behaviour and more! The older group also had the opportunity to watch me administer medicine to Este and the younger group really enjoyed choosing their pets to take to the vets 😍 Home Educator Zoology Program is now complete for 2024 and will be back in 2025! The next event will be the Animal Teach Zoology Kids Club, open to all, 3 different age groups and the theme for December is Animal Migration 🐦‍⬛ Thanks to Beki for the photos! πŸŽ‰
It's a late night at Animal Teach HQ, so whilst I'm prepping and business planning, I have some news to share! πŸŽ‰
AJ the Kenyan Sand Boa has a messsssssage! 🐍 "Naomi is exhausted and won't be online across the weekend! You might see some scheduled posts. For all, upcoming events - check the social media pages and website and get your tickets via Ticket Tailor! Tonight she is having a well deserved night off and will probably get distracted and take photos of us animals πŸ˜‚"
EXCITING NEWS! Plan ahead and mark these dates on your calendar πŸŽ‰The 2025 schedule for the Animal Teach Zoology Club is here! Ticket link will be available soon. Themes to be confirmed 🦎
It's nearly December....which means it's nearly time for the LAST Zoology Kids Club of 2024! There are limited spaces left - book here - https://buytickets.at/animalteachltd/1197581 Please note: The Zoology Kids Club requires a minimum of 8 tickets sold per age group to proceed. A tremendous amount of time, effort, and animal care goes into organising these clubs, but they can only continue if they are actively booked
Today has been non-stop! Headcounts, substrate changes, tank renovation, leaf changes ...and still quite a bit to do! But whilst I've stopped for 2 minutes - do you know what these amazing things are? 😍😍
Today was the first week of the SOLD OUT Home Educator Zoology Program and we focused on Habitats and Life Cycles! I had so much fun joining in that I didn't get many photos 🀣 Next week we will be focusing on Animal Health and Enrichment! There will be another Home Educator Zoology Program in 2025 - would you like to be signed up to a newsletter to be the first to know! Then email animalteach@outlook.com to be added to the Newsletter List
We had a wonderful afternoon at Hobbycraft Warrington doing our Natural History workshop! Keep an eye out for the next date! We will be back in the New Year πŸŽ‰
Everyone who knows me, knows how much I love each and every animal, their behaviours, their defense mechanisms and their adaptations...but one thing I do not like about animal keeping is when they pass away, especially unexpectedly πŸ˜₯ Within 30 minutes tonight, Iris the Merauke Blue Tongue Skink showed symptoms of passing away so in her last moments I wrapped her in a blanket and held her hand as she took her last breath 😞 Iris has been with us a couple of years and her previous home had her a while, so her true age isn't known! She was a feisty blue tongue skunk, ALWAYS mistaking my hands for food, but I loved the relationship we created. She was target trained and would come over to me in her enclosure when she saw me enter the room. But she was a resident at Animal Teach HQ as transport training and handling showed that she wouldn't be suitable for exhibitions and workshops - her welfare was priority 🦎 I'm going to miss her cheeky dinosaur face coming over each day πŸ˜₯ Goodnight Iris πŸ’™
Today I was representing @kingstrust as a Young Ambassador at their Annual Get Together in Birmingham! The trust has played a HUGE part in me running Animal Teach, from enrolling into the Enterprise Programme to becoming a Young Ambassador and I also have the BEST mentors and support! It's so lovely to give back and share my business journey, today with over 50 The Kings Trust staff at Aston University πŸŽ‰ If you are a young person wondering whether to set up a business, then I highly recommend their Enterprise Programme! Speaking from experience, you'll have so much support and guidance πŸ’™
There are only 10 places left for this exciting workshop which focuses on a curated collection of specimens to spark creativity. Book here - https://buytickets.at/animalteachltd/1447568 Please note there are no live animals at this workshop! All art materials are provided to take your creation home. Suitable for ages 8+. Based on the bottom floor of Hobbycraft Warrington 🦎
It's another busy week for Animal Teach Ltd! As well as working with schools and Hobbycraft, Naomi will also be college lecturing and planning upcoming events behind the scenes 🐌 Dawn is working away at contacting local schools with the new School Information Booklet - so teachers, make you sure PIN the email ready for when your start planning for the New Year! πŸŽ‰
This time last week, we were heading to @animalstarawardsuk and it was soon after, my mouth dropped to the floor as Animal Teach Ltd was on the big screen and announced as Best Pet Related Business of The Year! πŸ˜πŸŽ‰ Whether you interact on social media, book an educational workshop, attend the Zoology Kids Club, help at the events or support behind-the-scenes, you have played a huge role in helping me to build my business! As part of the celebrations, why don't you share your favourite thing about Animal Teach in the comments for your testimonials to be featured on the website and to WIN an Animal Teach Goody Bag! πŸŽ‰

GET THIS DATE IN YOUR DIARY AND BOOK YOUR TICKET NOW - Saturday 19th October - Animal Teach Zoology Kids Club - Weird and Wonderful! FAQs below - https://buytickets.at/animalteachltd/1197581 FAQs: Do I need to stay with my child/children? Yes please! 1 adult What happens if they are in different age groups? There are two rooms at the venue, one for the activities and one to sit and relax with a hot drink! Does my child/children need to attend every month to be a member of the Zoology Kids Club? No - there are 10 places, first come first served, for each age group. I appreciate life can be busy and you don't need to be there every month to be a member of the Animal Teach Zoology Club. Any sibling discount? No - workshops are planned for the number of children attending and cover many costs including animal husbandry, welfare, transport, room hire, activities and more. Instead all children receive a Stamp Card and the more they attend, the more stamps they can use to swap for gifts. I've had a change of plan, can I request a refund? This is on a case-by-case basis as resources, venue hire and animal welfare costs need to be covered for the club to run. Usually tickets are transferred to another date to attend

Maybe I could join Pig our Hermann Tortoise and go into hibernation for November-February? 🐒😴 The events in the post all have different bookings/times, keep an eye out on individual posts for more details or leave a comment for more information! I'll get the Giant African Land Snails to reply, they will be quicker than me 🀣

Arghh it must be the day of death today! Another sad post as so many of you have met Gary and Michelle the Giant African Land Snails (Lissachatina fulica) 🐌 They have been ambassadors since the start of Animal Teach and were rehomes when they were fully grown, so they are quite old! So many of you also know how much I love snails as they were what kickstarted my love for little creatures when I was really young! This evening Gary has passed away and I'm heartbroken for the second time today. Gary has encouraged so many people to like or love snails and learn more about their anatomy, feeding habits and behaviours! So many of you have held him, stroked him, fed him and created habits for him πŸ’™ (I say him, snails are actually hermaphrodites so they are both male and female)! I think I'm going to spend this evening cuddling all of my animals and wishing they'd live forever 😭🐌 Goodnight Gary πŸ’™
*Update!! A HUGE thank you to each and every person who has donated towards this - the vet bill has now been 100% covered and from the bottom of my heart I am so grateful. No more donations are needed* *Lumens light hasn't gone fully out... she'll be remembered in the new Educational Programme I'm developing based on her* In addition to my video, here's some more details about Lumen the Leopard Gecko 🦎 On Friday afternoon there was a social media post about a leopard gecko that was found outside, likely to have been dumped She was incredibly emaciated, cold and struggling to move I picked her up from a lovely family who kept her warm and brought her home to give her more warmth and hydration Using suitable equipment, I removed over 20 layers of stuck skin from her toes and feet and applied Tamodine to reduce infection I gave her a small amount of water which she drank a little off and noticed she would circle when walking Her right eye showed evidence of blindness and a dark mass began to spread across her abdomen yesterday When she 'perked up' I was hopeful I could do more, but the mass was still spreading and her circling behaviour was worsening... This morning she passed over the rainbow bridge as I made the decision to take her to the vets and take away the pain. She'd already been through enough I am absolutely heartbroken that she was at this point and I couldn't have done more. I'm also heartbroken that someone let her get to this point 🦎 But she won't be forgotten! I have a huge plan to educate others Today also cost £105.23 for her veterinary bills and I didn't have this spare...if anyone would like to send a couple of pounds over to alleviate the financial pressure it would be appreciated - send me a message for the Business Bank Details A HUGE thank you already to the person who has sent £15 over Goodnight Lumen πŸ’™
Important - Post discusses a leopard gecko that has passed away πŸ’™πŸ¦Ž

Thank you for inviting me along to celebrate your one-year anniversary πŸŽ‰ I had a great time showcasing what Animal Teach is and also providing opportunities to meet Giant African Land Snails, Giant African Train Millipedes and Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches 🐌 Did I meet you today? It is time for an important update! 🦎Due to an additional job role, I will be unable to carry out workshops on Thursday or Friday this upcoming academic year (unless in the Warrington Half Term, existing books will still go ahead) 🦎More than ever, bookings are required to be made at least 4 weeks in advance due to limited availability, pre-existing bookings and signed contracts. The busiest times of year are Half Terms & Weekends, Summer, Halloween. Get your dates in now! 🦎If you'd like to learn more, email animalteach@outlook.com for now. Soon there will be a new admin email 🦎From mid-October I'll introduce you to Dawn, whose background in a Veterinary Office is going to be very helpful when helping me to manage enquiries and bookings
