Frequently Asked Questions
Animal Teach provides hands-on animal workshops, educational programmes, courses, talks, books, resources, community projects and professional development opportunities.
We work with schools, colleges, home educators, families, community organisations, museums, science centres, events and other organisations.
Our educational experiences can be adapted for different ages and learning needs, from early years through to adults and professional learners.
We primarily work across Cheshire, Warrington and Merseyside, but Animal Teach can travel further afield for schools, events, organisations and other educational opportunities.
Animals that demonstrate comfort with handling may be held by participants during workshops. Safe4 Hand Sanitiser is provided at every session and Animal Teach Ltd adheres to strict handling protocols at all times.
Some species will be display-only due to their individual behavioural needs or species-specific requirements.
Tarantulas will never be placed directly on hands to prevent bites, urticating or accidental drops.
Snakes will never be placed around participants’ necks, prioritising their welfare and minimising the risk of bites or strangulation.
Frogs may be handled at select workshops only, using gloves and water to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
All workshops follow species-specific handling policies to ensure the safety and welfare of both animals and participants.
